Greg Phillips, Board Chair
Greg has a B.S., Engineering Management, Southern Methodist University; a J.D., University of Texas School of Law, and M. Div., Summa Cum-Laude, Amridge University. Prior to law school, he worked for IBM for two years in tech sales. Afterwards, he entered law school at UT and set out on what has been a successful and fulfilling career in corporate and transactional law.
Greg began his career as an attorney at Bracewell in Houston, Texas as a corporate transactional securities attorney. He was an Associate General Counsel at both Compaq Computer Corporation and Enron Corp. After Enron, Greg launched his first independent law firm that grew into a 26-lawyer firm across four cities.

Henoc Jean brings a service oriented mindset shaped by a lifelong commitment to learning, family, and community. With over 12 years of experience in finance and analytics, he has supported organizations through responsible financial stewardship, clear communication, and collaborative problem solving. His professional background includes financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and operational analysis, with a focus on transparency, accountability, and continuous improvement.
Henoc holds a Bachelor of Arts in Finance from the University of St. Thomas in Houston, where he served as co captain of the Mens Basketball Team and was part of the program's inaugural team that grew into a championship winning program—an experience that reinforced the value of learning, teamwork, and shared growth.
One of thirteen siblings, Henoc was raised in an environment where learning from others, supporting one another, and leading by example were essential. Outside of his professional and volunteer commitments, he enjoys playing basketball, reading, gardening, and spending time with his wife, family and pets.

Stacey Batiste is a strategic Human Capital executive and nonprofit board leader with more than 20 years of experience guiding organizations through growth, transformation, and cultural alignment. As Owner of Batiste Enterprises Inc., she advises executive teams on talent strategy, leadership development, and enterprise change initiatives that strengthen mission impact and operational performance.
Although change is not rocket science, doing something differently — and emerging smarter, wiser, and stronger — requires thoughtful planning. Stacey helps leaders answer essential questions: Who do I need? What do I need them to do? When do I need to provide information? By clarifying these relationship dynamics, she enables organizations to execute change with intention and accountability.
Known for bringing order to complexity, Stacey develops structured strategies grounded in trust, communication, and measurable outcomes. Her expertise spans organizational design, succession planning, performance management, enterprise communications, and large-scale transformation initiatives.
She previously served as Board Chair of The Lazarus House in Houston, Texas, strengthening governance practices, supporting fundraising growth, and expanding services for individuals and families in need. She brings to nonprofit boards strategic oversight, financial discipline, and a people-centered leadership philosophy.
Stacey holds both a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration (Hotel and Restaurant Management) and a Master of Business Administration (General Business) from the University of Denver.

Dr. Michon Benson is an Associate Professor of English and Assistant Dean in the College of Liberal Arts and the Behavioral Sciences at Texas Southern University, where she also serves as Director of the House of Maroon. Her work centers on literary studies, culturally responsive pedagogy, and interdisciplinary programming that connects the humanities to workforce development, entrepreneurship, and community engagement.
Dr. Benson leads several signature initiatives housed in the C. S. Lane Building, including the Hub for Creative Entrepreneurship, which supports student learning and professional development across fashion, beauty, food, and arts-based enterprise. Her teaching and scholarship emphasize narrative, identity, and storytelling as tools for intellectual growth, cultural literacy, and institutional transformation.

Tiffany’s service on the Sankofa Independent School Board reflects her commitment to educational equity, cultural empowerment, and creating pathways rooted in the richness of the Black diaspora to support the next generation of leaders.

With years of experience guiding aspiring healthcare professionals, he has mentored students through the MCAT preparation process, medical school admissions, and professional development. Dr. Sutton is known for his hands-on teaching style, motivational leadership, and commitment to helping students maximize their potential. Through his work with MDI Prep, he has helped countless students strengthen their academic performance and gain acceptance into medical and professional schools. Passionate about service and excellence, Dr. Sutton focuses on building future physicians through discipline, strategy, and mentorship.

Mamie L. Williams is a Houston-based finance executive and minister-in-training with over 20 years of expertise in internal controls. A Baton Rouge native and Southern University alumna, Mamie graduated with honors as an Ernst & Young Fellow before pursuing her Master of Divinity at the Samuel D. Proctor School of Theology.
Her career is defined by a unique fusion of organizational leadership and deep theological grounding. For nearly three decades, she has dedicated herself to children and youth ministry, advocating for the transformative power of education and faith. A proud member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated, Mamie is a devoted wife and mother of two. She remains a steadfast believer that a community’s most vital investment is in the character and spiritual development of its young people, bringing a wealth of experience and heart to every mission she serves.

Bianca Roberson-Johnson is a Houston-based attorney and strategic advisor, serving as a fractional General Counsel and founder of RJ Legal Advisory Group, PLLC. She partners with financial institutions, startups, and mission-driven organizations to lead complex transactions, structure operations, and drive legal and business strategy. Bianca began her career as an Assistant District Attorney with the Harris County District Attorney’s Office and later held in-house roles supporting global commercial transactions. She earned her J.D. from Thurgood Marshall School of Law and a BBA in Finance from Howard University. Bianca is the founder of Women Empowering Women in Life and Law (WE WILL) and a 2024 Leukemia & Lymphoma Society Visionary of the Year candidate. She lives in Houston with her husband, DeAndre, and their three children, Sloane, Duke, and Ella, who keep life full, joyful, and always moving.
